It's nothing new that it is great to be bilingual. But did you know that speaking Swedish in particular might be a serious advantage if you want to get a job in the U.S? According to an article published by CNNMoney.com, the U.S. Army, the NYPD and State Department cannot get enough workers with language skills. Neither can Fortune 500 companies, hospitals, local courts or schools. And according to the Department of Labor, translators and interpreters are expected to be one of the 15 fastest growing occupations in the nation. Nationwide, workers in this field earn a median annual salary of $43,000. So where does Swedish come in handy? Well, especially in the private sector, the article continues.
